Look for salons that ask detailed questions about your current moisturizer and skin history. Avoid places that just try to book time slots quickly without proper consultation.

A real Moroccan Hammam treatment should include several steps: proper steam room treatment to open pores, application of black soap, a thorough scrub with a special glove, and finishing with a clay mask for deep cleaning and skin glow.
For peak wedding season (October to December), you should book 4 to 6 months in advance, as good places get booked early and last-minute bookings may result in getting a cut-down version or no slot at all.
Call and ask specific questions: Do you have a proper steam room or cabin? Do you use real Moroccan products like Beldi soap? Is the therapist trained in traditional techniques? Also check reviews for mentions of 'steam room' to verify authenticity.
For sensitive skin, the steam and pressure need to be adjusted properly. With active body acne, scrubbing might make it worse, so it's important to discuss your skin condition with the therapist before booking.
Avoid shaving or waxing right before the treatment as it will sting, and avoid using heavy moisturizers that can block the effectiveness of the scrub.
Typically 2 or 3 sessions are needed with gaps in between. It's a process, not a one-time treatment, and expecting immediate results from a single session may lead to disappointment.
Plan well in advance of any important events. The treatment involves a 'puffy phase' with swelling that can last for weeks, and results take time to appear as your body slowly clears the dissolved fat. Don't book it too close to special occasions.
Indian skin tends to mark easily and can develop dark spots from injections. There's a risk of little dark dots where needles went in, and redness that may last longer. A test patch is recommended for sensitive skin.
The treatment dissolves fat but doesn't tighten skin. If your issue involves sagging skin rather than just fat, this may not be the right solution. A proper consultation should assess whether it's fat or skin causing the double chin.
Ask: 'How many Indian clients with skin like mine have you treated?', 'What exactly do you do to reduce swelling?', and request a test patch if you have sensitive skin. Ensure they do a proper assessment rather than just taking payment.
Certification means the specialist has completed a proper hands-on training course with real people, not just watched online tutorials. They should have a physical certificate proving they practiced on live models and learned proper technique, sanitation, and how to handle different facial areas safely.
